Designed by MNMA, a transdisciplinary architecture studio, handmade shoe company Selo’s standalone retail store in São Paulo offers a shopping experience with an escapist atmosphere.
In the pursuit of fluid circulation, the store and sidewalk are aligned as a continuum. In doing so, the store offers accessibility.
Seeking to contrast the hectic nature of São Paulo, the largest city of the Southern Hemisphere, the façade is minimalist with the use of cement slates and frameless glass.
The logos of Selo are golden to accentuate a chic and luxurious quality.
The interior is very sparse with only a few pieces of furniture.
During construction, the flooring had unfortunatly shattered due to the expansion of materials. Rather than fixing the cracks, it was instead filled with a golden mixture.
Alongside artificial light, the store is illuminated with a rounded skylight.
