Known for its quirky apparel and accessory items, along with creating sustainable and eco-friendly products, UK-based streetwear darling Lazy Oaf has recently released its collaborative collection with vegan Brazilian footwear brand Melissa.
Both brands’ playful styles and vibrant colour choices are showcased on a range of exclusive jelly sandals and bags. Inspired by the neon and doodle-filled days of the 1990s, the items in the range either feature daisy motifs or Lazy Oaf’s signature heart embellishments. In terms of colour palette, the collection stays true to its groovy vibes by utilizing a neon green, light blue, pink, red, yellow, white, and black colour palette.
At the center of the team-up is Melissa’s iconic Kick Off Sandal, which is crafted from 100% vegan recyclable plastic. Elevating the shoe is a chunky, tonal foam midsole and jelly bands accented with a Lazy Oaf and Melissa co-branded adjustable strap clip and Velcro fastenings.
In terms of accessories, the range includes three mini variants of the City Bag also dressed in the same colour theme, so coordinating that perfect head-to-toe look has been made simple. The bags are also designed with 100% vegan recyclable plastic.
“We had seen some recent Melissa collabs that had knocked our socks off and when they got in touch we were really excited about exploring the ways we could bring a bit of Oafness to their shoes,” shared Gemma Shiel, Lazy Oaf’s creative director, in a press release. “The way the shoes are made is so interesting and unique, which provides plenty of creative challenges which we love. They are a brand that loves working with creatives and have been so accommodating with exploring our ideas and hundreds of questions.”
Additionally, each item shipped arrives in compostable packaging made from sugar cane, while product packaging is either recyclable or compostable to minimize the brands’ negative impact on the environment.
