Global fashion retailer H&M recently announced that they are teaming up with Swedish logistics company Budbee to offer a more sustainable delivery option to their customers.
How exactly is Budbee able to offer eco-friendly delivery? First, the Stockholm-based company offsets all of its carbon emissions. In fact, they have compensated 110% of the emissions it has generated to date.
Further, by 2022, Budbee has plans to offer 100% fossil-free delivery. They intend to do this by contracting more cargo bikes across all their markets, designing green terminals that are self-sufficient, installing fossil-free fueling stations at their green terminals, and delivering all parcels fossil-free, whenever possible.
The Netherlands, along with Budbee’s native Sweden, are currently the only countries where H&M is offering this sustainable delivery option. Shoppers can now select Budbee’s next-day delivery service at checkout, which costs just 4.99 euros.
