HAPPIEE!

As part of a series A round held last September, Singapore-based company Growthwell Foods had managed to raise $22 million in venture capital. With the money, Growthwell became one step closer to realizing its vision of establishing itself as the undeniable leader of plant nutrition in Asia.

Recently, a brand new product range called HAPPIEE! was introduced by Growthwell. HAPPIEE!’s plant-based product offerings include chicken popcorn, fish sticks, chicken nuggets, and fish patties.

The chicken products are made with soy, while the fish products are made with a plant called konjac.

Manufactured at Growthwell’s fully automated large-scale production line for plant-based products, the facility utilizes High Moisture Extrusion (HME) technology to supposedly improve the texture of HAPPIEE!’s products.

“As a leading manufacturer, we aim to capitalise on the growing global demand for plant-based alternatives in the areas of meat and seafood,” says Justin Chou, executive director of Growthwell Group. “The recent Covid-19 pandemic has revealed the vulnerabilities of our food supply chains. Ultimately, Growthwell strives to be the local and regional champion in supporting the drive to achieve long-term food supply stability.”
