There is a new food delivery service, and this one specializes in health-conscious and eco-friendly cuisine.
The new service was created by Gwyneth Paltrow as part of her goop lifestyle empire. Dubbed goop Kitchen, the new venture launched earlier this week in Los Angeles and aims to offer nutritious, allergen-free meals that are both tasty and chock full of vitamins and nutrients.
In addition to allergen-free, goop Kitchen also has several gluten-free and vegan-friendly options, with menu items ranging from bowls and salads to wraps and soups. Currently, the goop Kitchen menu includes the likes of a teriyaki bowl, a crispy rice southwest salad, mushroom “al pastor” lettuce wraps, Japanese sweet potato soup, and for dessert, nutty date truffles, chocolate date truffles, and chocolate chip cookies.
Further, Paltrow’s goop Kitchen places an emphasis on the environment, with a focus on ethical, sustainably sourced and seasonal ingredients. For example, the new service features responsibly ocean-farmed salmon, organic and free-range chicken, plant-based meat, organic local produce and greens.
Even the packaging is sustainable, with 100% recyclable bags featuring woven paper rope handles and a collapsible paper body and rPET containers that can be reused for years and each save roughly three and a half plastic bottles. goop Kitchen claims that their projections indicate the containers from one of the brand’s restaurants could potentially save 25,000 pounds of plastic from ending up in a landfill, preventing over 35,000 pounds of CO2 from making its way into the atmosphere.
Part of the delivery service’s mission is to promote the clean food movement, by showing how delicious, not to mention filling, whole, unprocessed dishes can be.
Lastly, every single dish produced by goop Kitchen must meet the rigorous Goop-Certified-Clean (GCC) standard. The GCC standard means no processed sugars, gluten, soy, dairy, peanuts, processed foods, or preservatives of any kind.
goop Kitchen is based out of a virtual kitchen in Santa Monica and currently services the Los Angeles neighbourhoods of Venice, Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, and Beverly Hills. However, the brand was quick to note that goop Kitchen is just the beginning of several goop food concepts in the works, and that they will be expanding to new locations throughout Los Angeles in the coming months. Prices currently range from $2.95 to $15.95 USD per menu item.
