Swedish fashion label Filippa K recently announced its decision to switch things up for their upcoming AW21 collection

The new collection will centre on the idea of creating a simple yet meaningful wardrobe, which they will do by offering fewer pieces than their past lines.

Further, the pieces they design will be created out of archive materials. The brand claims that using archive materials is a way of returning to their roots, while also repurposing material that would have otherwise gone to waste. This decision is part of Filippa K’s broader mission to transition the fashion industry from fast to slow and to ultimately achieve more mindful consumption.

Alongside the launch of the collection, Filippa K will also be announcing its certification for the responsible wool they use, as well as their down standards, in order to be as transparent as possible regarding their supply chain.

The AW21 collection will be made up of effortless, everyday pieces that are designed to last, as well as to minimize the wearer’s need to focus on their wardrobe so they can better concentrate on their busy life. Relaxed silhouettes, sharp edges, and earth tones like taupe, cream, and moss green will all be featured in the collection.

“This collection is about simplicity,” explains Emil Wiman, Filippa K head of design. “By focusing on fewer but better pieces we can put more love and attention into every design, creating an emotional connection with the wearer that really lasts.”

The repurposed and pared down AW21 collection is set to launch on Filippa K’s website and in stores this August.
