Created by Finland-based Italian designer Emanuele Pizzolorusso for client Palomar, Phil the bottle is a reusable 500 ml bottle that features a comprehensive list of water fountain addresses.

The bottle is designed to provide thirst-quenchers with a means of refilling free water at parks, public squares, etc.

The water fountains listed on the bottles are said to be highly monitored and are regarded as safe.

“I worked on what I thought would be the best proportion and size to perform the function of carrying half a litre, as well as displaying a certain amount of information. So it needed to be somehow flat and yet easy to hold in one hand,” Pizzolorusso told Dezeen.

Made from BPA-free PETG plastic with an Aluminium cap, the bottle is 100% recyclable.

Phil the bottle is available for Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Boston,  Copenhagen, Florence, Freiburg, Kyoto, Lisboa, London, Madrid, Milan,  New York, Paris, Rome, Tokyo, and Venice.

“The list of drinking fountains reminds us that every city has a privileged relationship with water, the most precious and often forgotten public asset,” said Pizzolorusso.

“Highlighting the drinking fountains in our cities for me was also a way to bring to our attention the fact that we can use tap water in general,” added Pizzolorusso. “In most countries, the water supply is highly secure and often there is no real need to buy bottled water.”
