An Australian-based company called Huskee has repurposed coffee husk to create a cup that is reusable and recyclable.

According to Huskee, roughly 1.7 million tonnes of coffee husk waste is generated globally per year.

“At the end of the harvest, coffee farmers are left with tonnes of this organic material,” explained Huskee. “While it has previously been used as a fertilizer supplement and even a carbonized fuel source, there is currently no economically viable and sustainable way of dealing with it. HuskeeCup is the first solution of its kind to address this issue.”

Made to be used at both home and a cafe, Huskeecup is durable, dishwasher friendly, stackable, and BPA free. Featuring thermal properties that keep beverages hot for long periods of time while keeping the outer layer cool with its fins, the base is designed with drainage vents for easy cleaning.

Huskeecup is available in the sizes ranging from 60z, 8oz, and 120z.
