With a vision to realize the most eco-friendly footwear, LA-based brand Clae has created the ‘Bradley Cactus’ sneaker made from organic cactus leather in collaboration with Green Product Award winners Desserto.

During production, the cacti are grown and harvested in an organic plantation located in Mexico. No harmful herbicides or pesticides are used during farming, just rainwater and natural minerals from the Earth. Without harming the plant, the mature cactus leaves are picked and dried to create the new plant-based fabric. The cactus is then left to regenerate for 6-8 months between harvests to ensure it stays healthy.

The Bradley silhouette, which is an iconic Clae style, has been rethought for the vegan sneaker market, while still meeting the brand’s standard for quality and durability. Fans of Clae will recognize the classic sneakers with their chic, minimalist design, now with the added benefit of a low carbon footprint.

Every detail of the shoe has the environment in mind, from the recycled nylon shoelaces to the naturally derived sole made from latex sap from the Hevea tree. Hevea plantations are sustainable and contribute to the global balance of carbon in the atmosphere.

The Bradley Cactus sneaker comes in three colorways; white, black and green and are currently available to pre-order.
