Danish fashion designer Cecilie Bahnsen has become one of the biggest names to watch in the industry. After making her heralded Paris Fashion Week debut earlier this Fall with an eco-friendly Ready-to-Wear Spring/Summer 2021 range, Bahnsen is now expanding her sustainability efforts with the latest launch of her “Encore” initiative.

Marking the third part of her eponymous label’s “Encore” capsule series, which launched back in June, “Encore 3” features a selection of upcycled special-edition pieces.

Giving a second chance to unused fabrics from earlier collections, the new range includes a handful of Bahnsen’s intricate and couture-like signature silhouettes, all dressed in a monochromatic black-and-white colour palette. Bahnsen adds her playful touch to the voluminous and playful lineup, seeing as romantic gowns are elevated with quirky patterns.

Additionally, the hyper-feminine items feature décolleté necklines, ruffle detailing, open backs, large bows, puff sleeves, tiered skirts, and delicate straps. The delicate looks in “Encore 3” perfectly showcases Bahnsen’s design aesthetics, which notably has made her one of the most exciting up-and-coming names to watch.

Each item was created from 100% upcycled fabrics from previous collections as an inspired response to COVID-19 lockdown limitations.

Having adopted sustainability as a core business strategy, Bahnsen has shared the label’s approach to responsibility is a personal one. “Encore 3” is just another step for Bahnsen towards integrity and consciousness, as her label continues to combat waste.
