Following the launch of their eco-friendly line and hosting a completely carbon-neutral fashion show earlier this year, Burberry has announced its latest sustainability-driven initiative.

Dubbed ReBurberry Fabric, the lauded fashion label will donate leftover and unused fabrics to fashion students all across the UK as a means of reducing waste.

The British Fashion Council (BFC) will oversee the logistics of the fabric donations through the Institute of Positive Fashion and Colleges Council. The BFC is aiming for ReBurberry Fabric to set an example and blueprint for other fashion brands to participate and provide real, practical support for budding and underprivileged talent.

“Providing resources for the next generation of diverse voices across the country in a sustainable way will enable them to bring their creativity to life, and continue through their programs with the tools they need,” Pam Batty, Burberry’s VP of corporate responsibility, shared in a statement. “We look forward to seeing how donations can positively impact these academic institutions and students, and hope this is the beginning of a wider industry initiative to support these communities, now and in the future.”
