For the vintage lovers out there, take note of the up-and-coming handbag and accessories label Brie Leon. The Sydney-based brand, helmed by Janine Zafra, has been garnering a lot of attention as of late thanks to its lineup of handmade vintage-inspired handbags and jewellery.
Each of Brie Leon’s handbag offerings can easily be paired with any of your wardrobe choices, whether it be for a night on the town or a day out running errands. Furthermore, the bags arrive both vibrant hues of “Orange” and “Powdered Blue” to more muted and neutral tones including “Biscuit,” “Stone,” “Bone,” and “Dark Brown.”
The unisex jewellery takes on a minimalist aesthetic and is offered up in 18k gold, 925 sterling silver, brass, rhodium, and stainless steel and incorporates freshwater pearls and glass-blown beads.
Brie Leon creates each of its time-enduring accessories using sustainable and animal-friendly materials including luxe faux fur, faux leather, recycled PU, recycled cotton canvas, Raffia, Satin, recycled polyethylene tetraphyte (rPET), and recycled Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) for the bags. Over on the jewellery items, natural pearls and handmade beads are used.
To further push its sustainable initiatives, select designs are only made in small batches to avoid both waste of materials and overproduction. Each of Brie Leon’s bags arrive in recyclable packaging made of card and unbleached kraft paper, while the jewellery is kept safe in pouches created using unbleached calico.
