Viv is single-handedly making menstruation more sustainable with their line of organic, biodegradable, and plant-based feminine hygiene products.

With earth-friendly period product offerings ranging from their 100% medical grade silicone menstrual cup to their winged pads and liners made out of bamboo and corn fibres, Viv recently added yet another period product to their arsenal, a biodegradable, plant-based tampon.

Intended for people not ready to use a menstrual cup or other reusable options, Viv’s tampons are made out of organic cotton and feature plant-based applicators. They are also BPA-free and toxin-free, and are available in three different absorbencies.

The founders of Viv, Katie Diasti, Catherine Mak, and Izzy Sarrafzadeh, say that their goal when founding the company was to create a “by Gen Z, for Gen Z” approach to period products. Their research had shown them that Gen Z women wanted to switch to natural, eco-friendly products more than ever before. They also discovered that one pad was the equivalent of four plastic bags. Thus, the trio set out to create a menstrual care brand that spoke to Gen Z’s needs, creating products that are affordable, environmentally-friendly and virgin plastic-free.
