Say hello to the world’s first zero-waste makeup crayons that go by the lovely name of Balmies! In 2014, founder Ericka Rodriguez launched Axiology with a clean, sustainable, vegan, and zero-waste goal in mind.
It all started when Ericka saw there was a lack of clean beauty products in the makeup industry, and she was shocked to learn that most makeup products are created by testing on animals. There weren’t any companies that checked all the boxes of being cruelty-free, clean, and sustainable. So in 2014, Ericka set off to start a company and create products that would soon be well-loved and bestselling.
The whole creation process started in Ericka’s kitchen in New York City but eventually moved to Bali. This big move allowed for her to save money, meet and find some amazing locals to help consult with on the whole process when it came to product formulation and eco-friendly packaging. After spending some time in Bali, Ericka moved to Bend, Oregon and after 2 years and nearly 200 formulations later Axiology launched.
The main star of the show in the Axiology makeup line is the Balmies, which come in a variety of colors and finishes. This magic wonder can be used all over your face, from your lips to your cheeks to your lids.
The Balmies come in singles or sets of three with fun names such as “Golden Hour”, “Malibu Magic” and “Cotton Candy Skies.”
Not to mention, it is 100% vegan and cruelty-free with the intention of doing no harm to the planet or to humans and animals that reside on our beautiful earth.
Axiology’s Balmies is available via their website and Ulta Beauty.
