For those looking for more eco-friendly and vegan options to add to their beauty routine, consider SUPEREGG, a new skincare label using cutting-edge and 100% plant-based ingredients.

Founded by Erica Choi, New York-based lifestyle influencer and licensed esthetician, SUPEREGG is inspired by the use of eggs in ancient Asian beauty rituals, which dates back to 600 B.C. Compelled to rethink these traditions, especially due to animal agriculture’s impact on climate change, along with issues with allergens, diseases, and preservatives, the cruelty-free SUPEREGG was born.

Everything about the skincare label is based on the humble egg, which represents birth and a fresh opportunity to reset and start anew. SUPEREGG pays homage to the egg, right down to the label’s range of skincare goodies, which arrive in sleek ovular packaging, aptly taking on the design aesthetics of the object.

However, it’s what’s inside SUPEREGG’s products that are regarded as the main driving force of the label. Steeped in rejuvenation, all of the brand’s offerings are plant-based and formulated to match the egg’s nutritional value and vitamin-rich elements with entirely vegan ingredients.

With SUPEREGG, Choi was able to re-create the egg’s essential components — the egg white, yolk, and eggshell membrane — resulting in three powerful and nourishing ingredients: “White Duplex,” “Yolk Duplex,” and “Shell Duplex.”

Known for its protein and collagen, the egg white’s vital components are duplicated through moisturizing soy protein, healing tremella mushroom, and calming rice extract. On the other hand, egg yolk, which helps to lock in moisture and smooth texture, is stimulated with skin-barrier-function-supporting hydrogenated lecithin, restorative vitamin E, and soothing chicory root. Lastly, the egg’s shell membrane’s water solubility is imitated with the use of hyaluronic-acid-boosting SYN-HYCAN and wrinkle-smoothing lupine protein for anti-ageing.

The line’s introductory products, the Sound Renewal moisturizer and Gentle Elements cleanser, are both formulated with Yolk Duplex and White Duplex to help restore the skin’s smoothness to that of an egg’s shell. Additionally, the moisturizer features supercharged humectant panthenol, hydration-boosting squalane, gently exfoliating PHA, and calming flower water to yield soft, supple skin, while the cleanser is packed with barrier-strengthening moringa oil, brightening vitamin C, and hydrating hyaluronic acid.

SUPEREGG already has plans to expand its highly anticipated offerings and will launch two different types of sheet masks, one made with White Duplex to depuff and the other made with Shell Duplex to balance. These masks will be available come February 2021.

The clean beauty brand’s sustainability initiatives extend into its packaging, which is made from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified paper and is entirely recyclable. Along with supporting the welling of skin, SUPEREGG is also working with the organization 1% for the Planet to take care of Mother Earth.
