Acne Studios, the renowned Swedish fashion brand, has made a significant leap in expanding its global presence by unveiling its first duplex flagship store in Shenzhen, China.
This remarkable addition to Shenzhen’s retail landscape has garnered attention not only for its fashion-forward offerings but also for its cutting-edge architectural design and creative collaborations.
A Visionary Design
The Acne Studios flagship store in Shenzhen is a testament to the brand’s commitment to innovation and design excellence. The unique exterior design blends Acne Studios’ distinctive design language with a fresh, modern aesthetic. The façade is a captivating showcase of transparency and high-tech sophistication, achieved through a Spider-glass-curtain-wall system. It’s a sight to behold, reflecting the intersection of fashion and technology.
Within the store, visitors are greeted by an interior that juxtaposes materials and textures masterfully. Pink accents punctuate the space, breaking the monotony of the sleek white high gloss lacquer walls and ceilings. Notably, rough, bush-hammered pink granite floors, stairs, and pillars contribute to the sense of monumentality within the store.
Collaborative Artistry
The creative genius behind this design is credited to the Swedish design studio Halleröd, a long-time collaborator with Acne Studios. This partnership has resulted in a store that seamlessly marries Scandinavian aesthetics with the brand’s contemporary vision.
Furniture designer Max Lamb also played a pivotal role in shaping the store’s ambiance. His pink and red leather furniture pieces, along with customized tufted rugs, add warmth and comfort to the space. The “Radiator” lighting design by Benoît Lalloz adds a highly individualistic touch to the store’s lighting scheme, illuminating the merchandise with a sense of artistry.
A Fashion Oasis
Acne Studios’ Shenzhen flagship store is not just a retail space; it’s an immersive experience. Special mannequins by Daniel Silver ingeniously complement the store’s aesthetic, while the introduction of the ‘Denim cube’ installation underscores the brand’s commitment to showcasing its diverse product offerings.
For fashion enthusiasts, the opening of this flagship store was an exciting event, as it unveiled the brand’s FW23 collections, along with a curated selection of shoes and accessories. Standout items such as the Platt bag and the iconic Musubi bag were proudly featured.
