Located in Nagoya, Japan, Acne Studios‘ 2960 sq ft (275 sq m) store designed by ARQUITECTURA-G experiments with materials and elements that contrast.
“The central theme of the project is playing with contrasts at different levels, being the main characteristic of the store the clash between the high-tech and low-tech,” said ARQUITECTURA-G. “All the strategic decisions and material choices are made seeking a sophisticated balance between the roughness and the delicateness, the chaos and the order.”
Described by ARQUITECTURA-G as being similar to a cave, the store’s roof is completely exposed with visible air pipes and textured beams. Reflecting the coarse roof is flooring covered with a custom made wool carpet.
Organizing the space are three stainless steel partitions with built-in shelves.
