As part of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Jeans Redesign initiative, Swedish label Weekday has released an eco-friendly denim set.
Dubbed “The Future Is Circular,” the set comprises two must-have essentials, a pair of Klean Jeans and a Milton Denim Jacket. Both of these timeless items are crafted from 100% biodegradable and recyclable materials. What’s more is that 20 percent of the cotton used was sourced from pre-used waste material, while the other 80 percent comes from organic cotton.
Additionally, both the jeans and denim jacket use minimal amounts of material in order to reduce environmental impact and are designed to be durable.
The Milton Denim Jacket features one pocket on each chest and is fashioned with a classic collar. On the other hand, the Klean Jeans boasts a mid-rise and straight fit.
“For us, this isn’t a one-off – we are now looking at how we can be more efficient and responsible within all our design practices,” Weekday’s responsible denim designer Per Axen shared in a press release. “We really had to think about every detail, such as trims, fabric, fit, and even packaging, and now that we have done this, we will look into how we can take these learnings and bring them into future designs.”
