Swedish automobile company Volvo recently made two major announcements in the name of sustainability.
The first was that the company is committing to an ambitious goal of only selling electric vehicles by 2030.
In addition, Volvo revealed that they have a new lineup of electric vehicles slated to be rolled out this year, including the C40 Recharge. In the same breath, they stated that their electric vehicles will only be available for purchase online as part of a broader strategy to transition to online sales in the coming years.
The C40 Recharge is Volvo’s second electric vehicle to date, after the XC40 Recharge. The new vehicle, which sits lower than the XC40 and features a sloping roof, has been built on the same platform as the XC40 and is capable of a range of 320 km (198 mi).
Given the recent push towards electric vehicles, Volvo expects half of the cars it sells by 2025 to be fully electric, and the other half to be hybrids.
