Following the release of its first-ever label-free bottle, Evian is continuing to make great leaps towards its sustainability goals, having recently unveiled its first 100% recycled plastic water bottle.
The natural mineral water connoisseur’s fully recycled bottle (rPET) was designed in partnership with Virgil Abloh. Known for creating some of the boldest looks in fashion, the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear and CEO of streetwear label Off-White has been acting as Evian’s creative advisor for sustainable innovation design since 2018.
The result is a fully recyclable textured bottle, made from 100% waste materials gathered from Evian’s old bottles, that respectfully pays attention to its recycled creation. The archived bottles are methodically designed and re-created from the reusable polyethylene terephthalate. Featured throughout is an indented hammered design effect, which reflects the way in which the bottle was reconstructed, and are suggestive of the bottle’s previous life.
“It is now more important than ever to practice sustainability; I believe we all have the power to challenge the status quo and to change our future for the better,” shared Abloh in a press release.
The Virgil Abloh-helmed Evian bottle is scheduled to roll out this March and will be available at select locations including Curator Hotels & Resorts. The new bottle is just the latest step in Evian’s aim in becoming fully circular by 2025.
