VEJA WATA II

VEJA is a French company that has been producing sustainable footwear since 2005. The brand’s approach is focused on using organic and eco-friendly materials and producing in a way that minimizes environmental impact.

Recently, VEJA launched its new Wata II shoe in two variations, which builds on the success of the original Wata sneaker and continues the company’s commitment to sustainability.

VEJA WATA II

The Wata II and Wata II Low retain the classic and simple design of the original Wata shoe but with some notable improvements. The upper is made of 100% certified organic cotton canvas, which is a more sustainable material than traditional synthetic fibres. The canvas is durable and comfortable, making it perfect for everyday wear.

VEJA’s new Wata II also features a vulcanized sole made of 40% Amazonian rubber and 10% recycled rubber. This means that the production of the shoe contributes to the preservation of the Amazon rainforest, as well as supporting the communities that live there.

In addition to the sustainable materials used to make the shoe, VEJA also implements fair labour practices in its production process. The company works directly with small-scale producers and cooperatives in Brazil to source their materials and pays fair wages to the workers involved in the production of the shoes. This ensures that the people involved in making the shoes are treated ethically and are able to support themselves and their families.

The Wata II is not only a sustainable and ethical shoe, but it is also stylish and comfortable. The canvas upper is breathable, making it ideal for warm weather, and the rubber sole provides excellent traction and durability. The sneaker is available in a range of colours, including white, sunny mustard yellow, bright blue hue, and more, so there is something to suit everyone’s style.
