To meet the ever-increasing hunger for plant-based seafood alternatives, Berlin-based food brand Veganz has built a new factory that is solely dedicated to the production of its vegan salmon-style slices.

Made from seaweed and microalgae, Veganz’s salmon-style slices are processed using a beechwood smoking method for an authentic and delicious flavour.

According to the vegan brand, 100g of their salmon slices has a CO2 emission value of 251g, while 100g of conventional Atlantic salmon accounts for 760g of emissions.

“We are delighted to be able to cover this year’s planned production volume of Salmon Style Slices through this temporary production facility,” says Jan Bredack, founder and CEO of Veganz. “At very short notice, we have managed to find a solution that means we can meet the growing demand for innovative alternatives to fish by Veganz as a part of our interhouse production by using our machines that are already installed on site and by employing new members of staff.”
