Swiss automobile company Micro as unveiled an updated model of the Microlino, an all-electric vehicle that was initially presented back in 2016.
Although scheduled to be unveiled at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show, the event had unfortunately been cancelled due to COVID-19. Instead, the vehicle was presented at a virtual press conference held in Zurich, Switzerland.
With seating space for two and a trunk volume of 220 litres, the 7.87 ft (2.4 m) long vehicle is intended to serve as a mode of micro-transportation in urban spaces.
Fitted with a standard 8kWh lithium-Ion battery, Microlino is capable of an acceleration rate of 0-50 km/h in five seconds and a max speed of 90 km/h. The max range of the 8kWh battery is 125 km while the upgraded 14.4 kWh battery will enable a range of 200 km.
Using a standard electrical outlet, the charging time is four hours. Charging at a designated station with Type 1 will take one hour.
Thanks to its compact design, three Microlino vehicles can be parked in a space that would be reserved for one conventionally sized vehicle. Since the doors are located at the front, the worry of accidentally hitting the vehicles parked beside when opening the door is averted.
