Known for its sustainable and inclusive fashion initiatives, clothing brand Universal Standard recently launched its “RESET RECYCLE REFRESH” program aimed at giving used clothes and fabrics a reborn lease on life, instead of ending up in the landfill.
With this new program, customers can give their wardrobe a complete reset with a purpose. The intent of Universal Standard is to help offset the amount of waste that occurs in the fashion world.
How the “RESET RECYCLE REFRESH” program works is that customers will be able to trade in their used garments for store credit. Universal Standard will gift up to $100 USD, which can then be used to purchase new designs and items from the label’s online store. Those interested will have until January 1, 2021, to participate.
Claiming the store credit is simple. Just order a pre-labelled recycling bag for $4.50 USD and indicate how many items you want to recycle; each bag can hold one to four items of used clothing.
After filling the bag, adhere the prepaid postage label onto it and send the bag over to Marimole, a company that specializes in recycling textile waste. After Marimole receives the bag, you will then receive a unique code via e-mail within 10 days, gifting you $100 ($25 USD per item) worth of credit.
What are you waiting for? Time to refresh that wardrobe for a good cause.
