Regarded as a Japanese art form, bonsai is a cultivation technique that shapes small plants into mimicking the proportion of full-size trees. Unfortunately, due to agricultural import restrictions, high prices and difficulty of both cultivation and maintenance, authentic bonsai plants are in limited supply outside of Japan.

With the aim of further spreading the love of bonsai plants to more people across the world, Japanese design studio nendo has created a 3D printed bonsai called grid-bonsai.

Just like real bonsai plats, grid-bonsai can be trimmed with scissors. In total, there are seven variations of grid-bonsai.
