Designed by South Korean studio unseenbird, SikMulSung is an innovative cafe located in Seoul that features an indoor vertical farm growing fresh vegetables for hungry customers.
The aim of the Mars-themed SikMulSung cafe is to showcase the potential of growing, harvesting, cooking, and eating food all in one location.
The cafe itself is operated by N.THING, an agro-food tech company. By merging IT technology and data with the agricultural industry, their goal is to realize a future where everyone has access to abundant, clean and safe food. Most notably, the company says they are aiming for the stars and envision building farms on Mars.
“The meaning of SIKMULSUNG is plant + planet, a virtual star between Earth and Mars,” says unseenbird. “The name reflects the system that can be cultivated in space. It was branded with the big dream of a company that builds a farm on Mars.”
