Said to be 10,000 times more hygienic than conventional reusable bottles, the LARQ Bottle is the world’s first self-cleaning water bottle with a water purification system.
Featuring UV-C LED technology that harnesses 280 nanometer UV light, up to 99.9999% of bio-contaminants from water are eliminated. The same technology is used in hospitals for sterilization.
As a means of demonstrating the LARQ Bottle’s technology, a study was conducted to determine the antimicrobial efficacy against E. coli. In one minute, the LARQ Bottle was able to kill 99.9775% of E.coli. At three minutes 99.9999% of E. coli was killed.
Powered by a lithium-polymer battery that lasts 40 times longer than conventional mercury-based UV technology, the LARQ Bottle on a single charge via a waterproof USB will be operational for up to one month.
To use LARQ Bottle, simply pour water into the bottle and tap the cap to activate the purification process. There is also the option to select a self-cleaning function that activates every two hours.
In addition, the LARQ Bottle is able to keep beverages cold for 24 hours and hot for 12 hours.
