British fashion designer Stella McCartney has spotlighted bold colour palettes and party prints for her eponymous label’s Fall/Winter 2021 collection.
Injected with British heritage and inspired by London club aesthetics, the looks featured brightly coloured ruched body con dresses, power suits, psychedelic jumpsuits, shouldered houndstooth coats, exuberant kick flares, and shimmering thigh-high boots.
Mixed in between were cozy knit sweaters, peplum skirts, and sporty bomber jackets. Through all the vibrant outfits, McCartney managed to perfectly balance all the looks through volume, texture, contrasting prints, and a colour palette of purple, electric blue, magenta, yellow and green.
Known for her industry-changing and eco-conscious methods, McCartney remained mostly vegan and cruelty-free for her latest seasonal range, seeing as an impressive 80% of the collection was constructed from sustainable materials and sources. For example, the wool coats and tailored pieces were crafted from wool sourced from farms with high welfare standards and regenerative farming practices.
Elsewhere, PVC-free sequins, forest-friendly viscose, vegan suede, stretch satin, and ECONYL (a regenerated nylon made entirely from ocean and landfill waste) were also incorporated into the FW21 designs. Additionally, Mylo, the new vegan fibre that the luxury label has created to replace traditional leather was also used.
That’s not all. Even footwear and accessory pieces champion sustainability and are made from vegan and cruelty-free materials. Highlights include the Maxi Falabella bag embellished with recyclable aluminum chains and footwear made from solvent-free biodegradable soles, ECONYL lining, and heels made from recycled ABS plugs.
