First unveiled back in 2020, Japanese conglomerate Sony’s VISION-S electric vehicle (EV) prototype has been updated to now include a new SUV-type.
Simply called VISION-S 02, the SUV-type was unveiled at CES 2022 and is built upon the same EV and cloud platform of the original VISION-S prototype. The new SUV-type offers a large interior space with 7-seats.
“VISION-S continues its aim of evolving mobility to be even closer to people, while developing technologies centered on safety and security, adaptability, and entertainment,” says Sony. “This new prototype will, together with VISION-S 01, promote the accommodation of a large variety of lifestyles within a society where values are becoming increasingly diversified.”
The Japanese company has also announced that they intend on establishing a subsidiary named Sony Mobility in spring 2022 that will solely focus on the EV market.
