Samsung’s new TV uses a state-of-the-art nanotechnology called quantum dot light emitting diodes, QLEDs for short, that is among the most advanced picture technologies currently on the market.
With the use of the quantum dot technology, the display is unaffected by glare and other external light sources. With a superior colour volume over conventional displays, the QLED TV is verified by Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker (VDE), a world-class testing and certification association, to be able to produce a colour volume of 100 percent. Older Samsung TVs produce a 70% colour volume. As a result, QLEDs have a wider and more diverse range of colour and are able to accurately replicate real-life imagery.
With the Ambient Mode, the QLED TV is enabled to seamlessly match the wall décor behind. Using Samsung’s SmartThings app to take a picture of the QLED TV and its background, an AI algorithm generates a pattern to make the TV appear transparent to the eye. The QLED TV can also display the time, news headlines, weather and traffic updates while in Ambient Mode.
The overall appearance is sleek, slim and minimalist. The QLED TV can be mounted to the wall with no gap and the connections for both power and signals have been combined into a single integrated cable to minimize clutter.
