Indian actress Priyanka Chopra-Jonas has launched her new haircare line, Anomaly Haircare.

An A-lister founding a beauty company isn’t anything new, but what sets Chopra-Jonas’ Anomaly Haircare apart is their environmental consciousness. In fact, the new line boasts several impressive credentials, including 100% vegan, virgin plastic-free, and cruelty-free.

First, all ingredients are clean, high performance, environmentally conscious, and fully plant-based. Such ingredients include aloe vera, charcoal, argan oil, bamboo, grapefruit, quinoa, rice protein, rosemary, and tea tree oil.

Each ingredient was specifically chosen, not only for its minimal environmental footprint, but also for the beneficial properties they contain, which range from strengthening and moisturizing to antimicrobial and rich in vitamin A. In addition, all formulas are entirely free of harmful chemicals, including parabens, SLS, SLES, and mineral oil.

Second, all packaging is made from 100% recycled plastic that was sourced from landfills and oceans. This recycled plastic is used for the brand’s bottles and tubes, while recyclable aluminum was chosen for the cans.

This conscious decision to package their products in recycled materials was part of Anomaly Haircare’s efforts not to contribute to the 91% of plastic in the world that doesn’t get recycled. This desire to reduce their carbon footprint as much as possible is also why consumers may notice that the plastic bottles their formulas are packaged in are thinner than the average shampoo or conditioner bottle.

Further, Anomaly Haircare’s inaugural collection is gender-neutral and intended for anyone and everyone. The initial launch includes a deep conditioning mask, a dry shampoo, and three different types of shampoo and conditioner.

Best of all, Chopra-Jonas’ Anomaly Haircare line is affordable, with all products costing just $5.99 USD. The low price point of the collection was intentional by Chopra-Jonas, who is seeking to democratize sustainable beauty, making saving the planet a viable option for all.
