Pierre Sernet is a multifaceted individual, whose career has spanned photography, business, and art. Born and raised in France, he studied at the Ateliers du Carrousel of the Musée du Louvre in Paris, where he developed a passion for photography. After working in photography for several years, he moved to the United States and pursued a career in business.

Sernet’s biggest success in business included the creation of artnet.com, which is now one of the largest fine arts databases in the world. This accomplishment allowed him to stay connected to the art world while pursuing his business interests.

Despite his achievements in business, Sernet felt a pullback to his artistic roots. He returned to his art practice and began creating works in various mediums such as sculptures and painting.

One of Sernet’s most notable works is a photography project named One. The concept of the project is to photograph the simple action of sharing a cup of tea with complete strangers from all over the world.

Using a portable Japanese tea room, a space for social interaction and conversation, in addition to a juxtaposition of the surrounding reality is created. The guests were invited to see their environment from a new perspective, meanwhile reflecting on different cultures and universal human values.
