Having only launched in early 2019, through a collaboration with a collective of designers, Los Angeles-based label PERFECT NUMBER has already made a name for itself with its unusual take on modern femininity.
For their fourth collection, PERFECT NUMBER has created a variety of seasonal pieces that pays homage to femininity and its many facets.
The direct-to-consumer label’s latest collection fuses elegance with utilitarianism, by juxtaposing hard-edge and technical garments with billowy silhouettes and soft detailing. The functional pieces perfectly balance feminine polish with sports and military-inspired touches.
Parkas embellished with loose industrial strap details and large removable patch pockets are paired with elegantly pleated midi skirts and tailored trousers. Elsewhere, a bomber jacket is contrasted with a tulle and silk skirt, while a trench coat matches perfectly with a formfitting slip dress. Other notable items include the boxy midi dress accented with strategically placed cut-outs and straps, along with the chunky deconstructed mohair sweater overlaid with delicate tulle.
In terms of colour palette, the collection consists of similar hues of black, white, and tans, with a graphic yellow and green-checkered print sprinkled in. The brand also doesn’t shy away from using louder materials such as PVC and tulle to pair with its minimalist designs.
Just like PERFECT NUMBER’s past collections, the latest range is made from sustainable textiles and fabrics, including biodegradable nylon. The aforementioned bomber jacket is constructed out of waterproof, biodegradable nylon and lined with recycled wool, while the chenille used to fashion the crinkly two-piece suit is made from 100% recycled post-consumer bottles.
And to push its innovation even further, PERFECT NUMBER’s ribbed dress is impressively engineered from fibres sourced from milk. On top of that, each piece is handmade in the bustling metropolis of Los Angeles.
Collection 4 will be available on September 17 via PERFECT NUMBER’s online store.
