Luna Li’s voice is as ethereal as the dreamland of her music. Based in Toronto, Canada, Li started studying music when she was five years old. Her mother ran a music school, and this environment influenced her appreciation of different sounds.
As a result, Li has a wide range of expertise in instruments. She can play the violin, piano, guitar, and even the harp.
A self-titled fairy, Li is here “to help you love” through her music. Li’s sound suspends the listener in the clouds. Her releases, including the hit “Afterglow,” feature a variety of instruments with layered vocals, which build a celestial atmosphere.
Li also provides solace in this time of heightened solitude on Twitter and Instagram. There, she posts her whimsical and accessible content. These brief jam sessions usually feature the musician in her bedroom that is filled with artworks and posters.
Recently, Li preformed “Afterglow” for ASIA RISING FOREVER, an online festival by American mass media company 88rising.
“Oh, how I love you, but I need to explore how to be alone,” Li sings. A bittersweet and vulnerable goodbye, “Afterglow” captures the reflective period that often happens at the end of a relationship — or the end of a hard summer.
