“Mirage,” the brainchild of acclaimed artist Katie Paterson and visionary architectural studio Zeller & Moye, is a testament to the power of creativity, global collaboration, and environmental consciousness.
At first glance, Mirage appears as an enchanting work of art—a collection of over four hundred towering glass columns, each rising to a majestic height of 6 feet 7 inches. One of the most remarkable aspects of Mirage is its origin story. Each glass column is crafted from pure cast glass made from sands collected from deserts across the globe. The sand collection process was carried out sustainably in partnership with UNESCO’s International Geoscience and Geoparks program, geologists, and local desert communities.
