Spanish fashion retailer Mango just launched an all-new capsule collection of accessories made up of 3D printed items.

More specifically, each item was 3D printed out of recyclable TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). Mango says the TPU used was made out of biodegradable and compostable plant-based materials and that all items were dyed naturally, using onions, turmeric, sandalwood, indigo, and spinach. Further, 3D printing is inherently sustainable as it results in zero waste.

To bring the collection to life, Mango collaborated with 3D printing fashion company Comme des Machines. This capsule collection is the second collaboration between the two companies, who first joined forces in February 2020, when they worked on a costume jewellery collection using 3D printing technology.

The accessories collection features seven items: a necklace, a handbag, a pair of sandals, and four pieces of costume jewellery.

To tie in the accessories collection with Mango’s broader spring/summer 2021 collection, they incorporated a daisy motif into the designs. Daisy embellishments can be found all over the heeled sandals, organza handbag, floral collar, and jewellery pieces.
