Los Angeles is brimming with sustainable fashion brands at the moment, one of the most beloved being Proclaim, which specializes in nude lingerie.
What sets them apart from the rest are the eco-friendly materials they use and the fact that their pieces are inclusive for women of all skintones, shapes and sizes.
One of the main materials that Proclaim uses is Tencel. Made out of wood pulp sourced from sustainably managed forests, Tencel was specifically chosen owing to its soft touch which mirrors that of cotton.
Another material that Proclaim touts is Repreve Recycled Polyester. This fabric was another conscious choice by Shobha Philips, founder of Proclaim. Philips wanted her brand to be part of the solution for plastic waste, not part of the problem (a problem that results in over 35 billion plastic water bottles getting thrown away each year). That’s where Repreve Recycled Polyester comes in. This material is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic water bottles and is manufactured locally in the United States.
Packaging is another area where Proclaim is sustainably minded. All of their poly mailers, wrappers, and hangtags are made in the United States out of 100% recycled materials. They also happen to be 100% recyclable. The poly mailers can even be reused thanks to their dual adhesive strip for resealing.
