Live in the Moment with Mudita’s Minimalist Phone

Created by Mudita, a Poland-based tech company, Mudita Pure is a minimalist phone designed to encourage a healthy lifestyle. 

“Smartphones help us in many ways but too often they become a time-consuming burden we carry with us all the time,” said Mudita.

Taking inspiration from Japanese Zen and Scandinavian aesthetics, the Mudita Pure’s design is simple and incorporates aspects of nature. Described by Mudita as being similar to the shape of a stone, the phone is compact, light and easy to hold. 

“We appreciate good looking objects that bring us joy, something we found lacking in the current feature phone segment. Minimalistic design for simple living. Designing Mudita Pure was a challenge. The more simple and clean we made the design, the more difficult it was to manufacture,” explained Mudita. “It took us around 18 months to find the final look and included the creation of more than 40 different proposals. Yeah, yeah, maybe we overdid it. What can we say, we are perfectionists.”

Fitted with a slider on the side, users are able to quickly switch between customizable modes. The various modes include Connected, Do Not Disturb and Offline.

Mudita Pure’s flashlight can emit both white and a warm sunset like light. Stating how white light can “easily wake up your family or make it difficult for you to fall asleep”, the sunset light provides an alternative that is more neutral. In addition, Mudita states that the sunset light promotes the secretion of melatonin which results in an improved sleeping quality.

To reduce eye strain, the Mudita Pure features an E Ink display with customized front light for a more relaxed experience.
