In a surprising and unlikely partnership, LG Electronics (LG) and online fashion retailer Net-A-Porter have collaborated to offer a capsule collection.
Composed of eco-friendly clothing made from natural materials, the collection is presented by LG and made available by Net-A-Porter via Net Sustain, a curated platform designed to encourage customers to only purchase sustainable fashion and beauty products.
The capsule collection includes 14 styles in total with six from BONDI BORN, five from Le Kasha, and three from Mara Hoffman. Pieces are pastel or neutral in tone, such as Mara Koffman’s white Coletta crinkled organic cotton wrap mini dress and Augusta ruffled linen maxi dress in pink.
Bondi Born contributed a pistachio green linen mini dress and maxi skirt, as well as three swimsuit pieces made out of OEKO-TEX-certified Embodee fabric enhanced with AI DD technology to ensure they hold up well in each wash cycle. Le Kasha selected a mix of summery, organic linen pieces in shades of cream and pale orange. Pieces include a halter neck top, a midi skirt, wide-leg pants, and oversized shorts.
LG’s decision to partner with Net-A-Porter came about as part of its campaign entitled #CareForWhatYouWear. This global campaign has seen the South Korean home appliances and electronics company challenging customers to combat clothing waste by taking three actions.
First, LG has been showcasing the environmental benefits of purchasing durable, high-quality clothing. Second, they are promoting the act of upcycling garments or giving them to someone who could use them. Finally, they are teaching consumers how to best maintain the quality of fabric through proper washing techniques.
“As a world leader in wardrobe care solutions we feel we have a responsibility when it comes to environmental sustainability and partnering with NET-A-PORTER raises our credibility exponentially,” said Dan Song, president of LG. “Through innovative products and initiatives LG is demonstrating its deep commitment to making the world a better place and ensuring that life’s good now and long into the future.”
