LG Business Solutions USA has launched its first Level 3 DC fast charger, the LG EVD175SK-PN, in the U.S., addressing the increasing need for fast and reliable electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions. Certified under UL 2594 standards, this charger provides a power output of up to 175kW, reducing charging times significantly for EV drivers. It features a liquid-cooled CCS/NACS charging cable and dynamic load management, enabling multiple chargers to operate efficiently.

Production of the charger is set to begin this fall at LG’s EV charging production facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The EVD175SK-PN is designed with commercial customers in mind, offering a 24-inch outdoor LCD touch-screen display. This display can serve multiple functions, including user instructions, advertising, or enhancing customer engagement. According to Michael Kosla, Senior Vice President of LG Business Solutions, “The announcement of our first Level 3 DC charger demonstrates our ongoing commitment to provide our U.S. commercial customers with solutions that enable them to build out their EV vehicle charging infrastructure.”

Kosla also emphasized that the introduction of this fast charger opens up new business opportunities: “Together, our Level 2 and Level 3 chargers are creating new opportunities for businesses, municipalities, and other public places to support the electrification of America with independently owned and operated charging stations that create new revenue streams, additional marketing and income opportunities, and differentiation with competing businesses.”

The new Level 3 charger complements LG’s existing Level 2 AC chargers, forming a comprehensive EV charging portfolio. These solutions fit within LG’s broader electrification strategy, which includes energy-efficient products like heat-pump-enabled HVAC systems, energy storage systems, and ENERGY STAR® certified smart appliances.

LG backs its charging solutions with a nationwide network of sales and technical support professionals. This extensive infrastructure, Kosla noted, gives LG “a significant advantage over smaller EV charging firms” and ensures reliable customer service for businesses investing in their EV charging networks.
