Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled a new electric vehicle concept called Prophecy that is designed with the philosophy of “Sensuous Sportiness”.
Featuring a structure that exemplifies simplicity, Hyundai says that the Prophecy expands upon the 45 EV concept‘s use of clean lines and minimalism. The Prophecy also embodies Hyundai’s “Optimistic Futurism” concept that aims to “forge an emotional connection between humans and automobiles”.
“We have brought to life yet another icon that establishes a new standard for the EV segment as well as pushing Hyundai’s design vision to even broader horizons,” said SangYup Lee, head of Hyundai Global Design Center.
The highlight of the concept vehicle is its interior. With a spacious cabin catered for refinement and comfort, the driver and passengers are invited to sit back and relax as they are taken for a ride enabled by autonomous driving technology.
Notably, the concept vehicle replaces the conventional steering wheel with joysticks that allow drivers to pivot left and right. Hyundai describes the driving experience with the joysticks as “reassuringly familiar and intuitive”.
