Created by HSIANG HAN DESIGN in collaboration with Spring Pool Glass, a glass recycling factory in Taiwan, MOZHU is a glassware collection that is made to resemble bamboo stocks.

Inspired by ink wash painting, craftmanship and the properties of glass are employed to express the textures of bamboo and the ink painting’s gradient colour as a beautiful piece of ware.

To create the bamboo glassware, artisans blow two identical glass pieces simultaneously before joining it together.

“The pressing force and movement for the joint create the organic form of the bamboo; the different thickness of colored glass creates the beautiful visual effect as ink gradient,” explained HSIANG HAN DESIGN. “The whole process requires mature experiences, temperature and timing control abilities and highly understanding between artisans.”
