Sustainable fashion brand Girlfriend Collective has made a name for themselves thanks to its trendy, size-inclusive activewear created out of recycled water bottles.

Recently, they decided to expand into swimwear, and as you might expect their new swimsuits are just as eco-friendly as their leggings and sports bras.

GF Swim is made up of bikinis and one-pieces in every colour of the rainbow, available in sizes XXS all the way to 6XL.

As if being size-inclusive wasn’t enough, each swimsuit in the collection is made from regenerated nylon. More specifically, pieces are made out of ECONYL, a high-performance, quick-drying swimwear fabric that is made out of recycled fishing nets and other post-industrial waste collected from the ocean.

Girlfriend Collective has a sustainability report on every single GF Swim product page outlining the amount of oil conserved, energy saved, and carbon emissions prevented in the production process. For example, the Hermosa Bikini Top, a scoop-neck style, conserved 0.99 ounces of oil, prevented 0.30 pounds of carbon from entering the atmosphere, and saved 0.63 KWh of energy. Meanwhile, the Whidbey One-Piece conserved 3.33 ounces of oil, prevented 1.01 pounds of carbon from entering the atmosphere, and saved 0.63 KWh of energy.

Even better, Girlfriend Collective has promised to donate 1% of every swimwear sale to Healthy Seas, a non-profit working to clean up our oceans by collecting discarded fishing nets.

In essence, GF Swim helps clean up the ocean, upcycling ocean pollution into cute, vibrant, and size-inclusive swimwear.

Swimwear styles range from strappy and one-shouldered one-pieces to high waisted bikini bottoms and classic deep-V triangle bikini tops.

GF Swim is available now on Girlfriend Collective’s website, with prices ranging from $48 USD for bikini tops and bottoms to $78 USD for one-pieces.
