Copenhagen-based fashion brand GANNI has just opened an all-new store in Brooklyn, New York City.
Located in the hip neighbourhood of Williamsburg, GANNI’s new store is their second in NYC and sixth in the United States.
The Scandinavian brand has long been known for its sustainable fashion, so fans won’t be surprised to learn that they incorporated several sustainable elements into their new Brooklyn storefront.
The design concept is undeniably homey (inspired by the founders’ home) with several eco-friendly components. Such elements include recycled glass tableware from Danish glass artist Nina Norgaard and vintage furniture from Danish designer Borge Mogensen, as well as display podiums made from recycled plastic waste courtesy of Smile Plastics.
Also featured are recycled plastic mannequin stands, display trays made out of pressed old fabric, upcycled Artek stools, and rugs that were made using recycled deadstock fabrics leftover from previous GANNI collections.
Further, GANNI’s new U.S. store offers complimentary personal shopping appointments (both virtual and in-person), photographs of Copenhagen taken by Serbian photographer Ana Kras, a custom-painted mural by Colombia-born, Brooklyn-based artist Didi Rojas, and artwork by contemporary American artist Emma Kohlmann.
The unique brick-and-mortar location even has its own garden, where GANNI plans to host several community workshops and events in the near future.
GANNI’s 900-square-foot Williamsburg store, located at 113 North 7th Street, is officially open for business, so now’s the time to check it out for yourself.
