Held at Barlach Halle K in Hamburg, Germany, an exhibition titled Architecture x Fashion – A Dialogue has been presented by gmp Architekten in collaboration with premium fashion company ICICLE.
Part of Hamburg Architektur Sommer 2019, the exhibition juxtaposes fashion and architecture on large photographic displays.
“Using the medium of photography, the sense of proportion of the paired motifs has been taken to a different dimension,” explained gmp Architekten. “The fashion photographs are shown larger than life, whereas the architecture images are reduced in scale. As a result, both arts become comparable—at an equal level, so to speak.”
The exhibition is the result of ICICLE creating a collection inspired by the “special character of gmp’s commercial buildings”.
There are also samples of building elements and fabrics presented alongside the photographs that visitors can touch.
