Luxury e-commerce platform FARFETCH recently announced the launch of a new “Pre-Order” service.

The service is set to provide customers with early access to new products each season, allowing them to purchase items before they’ve even hit the shelves.

Further, FARFETCH’s Pre-Order option seeks to minimize fashion waste by allowing brands to only produce what has already been sold. While garments for FARFETCH’s first Pre-Order collection have already been made, the long-term goal of the initiative is for the service to be used pre-production.

The Pre-Order service will initially launch with ten brands, including Nanushka, Balenciaga, Khaite, Off-White, Palm Angels, Dolce and Gabbana, Casablanca, Nicholas Kirkwood, and Oscar de la Renta. FARFETCH says that new brands will be added monthly.

For many of these international brands, this will mark the first time they are operating within a Pre-Order framework.

Exclusive Pre-Order styles will be available to shop monthly on FARFETCH’s website and will ship to consumers roughly four weeks after being purchased.

Current styles available through FARFETCH’s new Pre-Order service range from a red padded puffer jacket by Khaite and Balenciaga leather lace-up boots to an Off-White sequin disco bag, an oversized patchwork blazer by Dolce & Gabbana, hiking boots by Nicholas Kirkwood, and a floral-embroidered Oscar de la Renta midi dress.

Pre-Order is now available on FARFETCH’s website.
