Perfect for casual and comfortable everyday wear, the Forever Sneaker released today by sustainable fashion brand Everlane is made to be fully recyclable.

Last year, Everlane introduced its very first sneaker as part of the launch of its new sneaker brand called Tread. With Tread sneakers priced at $98 USD ($151 CAD), the new Forever Sneaker is significantly cheaper, costing only $58 USD ($89 CAD).

Designed to be timeless, the Forever Sneaker can be easily styled with any outfit. For added variety, there is a total of five colours available.

The upper is composed of 50% recycled cotton canvas, while the outsole is natural rubber. The laces are made of 100% recycled polyester.

Once the sneakers are worn out, customers can drop off their pair at Everlane’s stores or ship them back where it will be recycled by Debrand into equestrian flooring and mats.

The Forever Sneaker is advertised as being suitable for skateboarders. After skateboarding all day, plenty of stains will eventually appear on the sneaker. Thankfully, it is machine washable. “We wash-tested it ten times just to be sure,” Everlane says.

The estimated carbon emissions of 7kg CO₂E for a pair of Forever Sneaker is 100% offset. Like with all other Everlane products, there is transparency when it comes to production costs and the final price tag.
