Over the past few years, the demand for matcha has been steadily growing. Originating from Japan, matcha is a fine powder of grounded green tea leaf. In addition to providing vitamins, fibers, minerals and antioxidants called polyphenols, the matcha also offers a wide variety of health benefits such as increased metabolism, improved blood sugar regulation, and more.
To meet the evergrowing demand, Eijiro Tsukada and Oki Hatta of Cuzen Matcha created the Matcha Maker. Just like an espresso machine, the Matcha Maker grinds green tea leaves for a fresh cup of matcha tea.
To use the Matcha Maker, leaves are first poured into the aluminum storage unit. With just a press of a button, the Matcha Maker grinds the leaves by using a ceramic mill before releasing the powder into a cup of water placed below the dispenser. Instead of manually whisking the matcha tea, a magnetic stirrer fitted onto the cup is used.
Paired with the Matcha Maker are two original blends of shade-grown tea leaves from Japan.
Available for pre-order in the United States only, the Matcha Maker with two bags of premium matcha leaf and three bags of signature matcha leaf is priced at $420 USD. Expected delivery date is Fall 2020.
