For those who want to grow fresh herbs, flowers, and vegetables in the comfort of their own home, eco-conscious tech company ēdn offers an app-controlled indoor garden aptly named SmallGarden.
Designed with dingy and small urban spaces in mind, ēdn’s WiFi-enabled home kit garden is a practical gadget that allows customers to grow leafy greens easily and smartly.
Small enough to sit on a countertop without taking up too much space, or fit perfectly on a window ledge and act as a perfect biophilic element in any room, ēdn’s SmallGarden can house up to 10 plants at a time and arrives with a set of 10 starter Basil SeedPods with every order.
According to ēdn, the company’s expertly engineered SeedPods are inspired by NASA technology, which combines soil, seeds, and time-release plant food into a small mess-free container. These seed capsules will start growing in four simple steps: plugging it in, pairing with the app, inserting the pods, and adding water.
ēdn offers chives, various types of lettuces, romaine, calendula, nettle, rosemary, sage, and mint SeedPods, as well as floral options ranging from marigolds to moss rose. Empty SeedPods are also available to purchase, for those who want to get more creative with their own picks. Developed exclusively for SmallGarden, the soil is expertly prepared and is full of nutrients while remaining GMO-free, pesticide-free, and fully biodegradable.
The sleek SmallGarden device is constructed from rounded walnut wood and is equipped with an integrated LED lighting system in the handle (which means sunlight is not necessary for the plants to thrive) and features a water tray that stores weeks worth of water. Additionally, anodized aluminum helps to dissipate heat from its LED light bar.
Users can control the lights and set a personalized watering schedule with ēdn’s accompanying app that will additionally provide warnings when the water tank is empty, detailed instructions on how to grow your plants, harvest them, and beyond.
Taking its love of plants one step further, for every SmallGarden purchase, ēdn will plant one tree to reforest North America.
