Hillary Taymour is the creator behind the brand Collina Strada, which is redefining sustainability in the fashion industry.
Manufactured out of NYC with the environment at its forefront, Collina Strada’s garments are made from vintage fabrics or deadstock that would have otherwise been thrown out.
More and more we are seeing major brands implement sustainable practices. Collina Strada goes above and beyond by partnering with The OR Foundation.
The OR Foundation’s mission is to help combat the damage of the fashion industry and its impact on communities in countries such as Ghana. Kantamanto Market in Accura, Ghana has become one of the world’s largest wastelands and dumping grounds for secondhand garments; this foundation along with help from brands like Collina Strada is helping clean up the mess.
Sustainable fashion doesn’t always make front-page news, but one look from Collina Strada recently made waves in the fashion community.
You may have seen Kim Petras’ show-stopping horse girl dress at the Met Gala. Well, that was an original creation by Taymour, who also designed Lorde’s Met Gala after-party look, which heavily resembles her recent fashion line that debut at New York Fashion Week.
